He created a new aerospace division within a
major insurer, managed the commercial operations of a major project to create a
world-first commercial service in the aerospace sector, developed and
implemented strategies to grow businesses, penetrate international markets,
obtain funding from private sector investors and governments and have been
instrumental in furthering the aerospace industry in Australia.
With advanced negotiation and influencing

Kirby provides broad consulting services to
the commercial space industry including market and industry analysis, risk
management and insurance advice. He has served as Director of Commercial
Operations at the Asia Pacific Space Centre where his role included management
of technical and commercial risks for the venture, and providing advice on
strategic development for the group. Prior to joining APSC he was Managing
Director of GIO Space, one of the largest space insurance underwriters in the
